Join us for an international congress on  fundamental issues in intellectual property law!

It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in the Annual Congress of the International Literary and Artistic Association (ALAI 2017), which will be held 17-20 May 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

ALAI 2017 is organised by the Danish Copyright Association (Dansk Selskab for Ophavsret) on behalf of the International Literary and Artistic Association (ALAI).

The theme of the Congress is:

“Copyright - to be or not to be”

Today, the protection of copyright and related (neighboring) rights is as controversial as ever before. It reaches into our everyday activities on the internet and is by many seen as an impediment to the free flow of information, culture and entertainment. The Congress will examine in depth not so much why this protection came about, but in particular which role it plays in modern society.

The ALAI 2017 Congress offers interesting lectures, open discussion and social events with excellent networking opportunities.

The Congress will be held at the Faculty of Law in the solemnity hall of the historic main building of the University of Copenhagen which is located in the city centre. In addition to the educational aspects of the Congress, the participants will get the opportunity to experience the capital of Denmark with its refreshing, unpretentious and dynamic atmosphere.

We look forward to welcoming you in Copenhagen.

Kind regards

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee,

Professor Morten Rosenmeier, Chair of the Danish Copyright Association
Honorary Professor Jørgen Blomqvist, Secretary of the Danish Copyright Association
